LOUIS THEROUX

This could be a better picture but i stole it from google!

This book by Louis Theroux is an adaption of a seriers that he makes for the BBC here in the UK. He revisits his subjects from the tv series to see where they are at. the book does give enough info about the people as at the time i had not seen the series, but since have.

He travels across the USA interview people from subcultures there. Unfortunatley his book does not accuratley show his skills that makes him so enjoyable to watch. His method of interviewing these people is rather unique. As a person he always appears somewhat awkward to me, almost a little naive but personally i cant help but feel he is putting on an act. However he manages to keep his subjects aloof of this. Is also could be the shock of the lives of the people he is interview that does this. In the book his subjects are somewhat interesting he interviews, such as a pornstay, motivatinal speaker, prostitute and a 'preen' racial hate folk band just to name a few!

JOE STRUMMER THE FUTURE IS UNWRITTEN

I have finally seen this documentary on Joe Strummer. One of the great things about being in England is being able to see great documentaries. It was a beautiful piece of work putting together the life of this great artist. I couldn't help but feel if i like a lot of people around him would have found him difficult to be around. A lot of people i respect particularly Don Letts make an appearance. I couldn't help but feel that the 'congenital heart' attack maybe a fabrication of a possible suicide. This is baseless but that was just the feeling i got from it and from some personal experience.

I could write more on this but i would only be ruining it for you.

I highly recommend this documentary.

TWICKENHAM

Saturday November 15 was the first time i went to the hallowed turf of Twickenham. Unfortunatley for me i was not there in the capacity to attend as a player nor a spectator. What made it a little harder to swallow was the fact that i was working in a bar. All the bars at Twickenham face the outer and you are unable to see the game.

The worst thing about this first Twickenham experience was that it was Australia Vs England. My bar manager was rather cool and let me have a break and watch the first 20 minutes on the TV adjacent to the bar (which we were told at the start of the shift we would not be able to do.) I have to tell you that some of the Englishman i didn't want to serve prior to the game given their utter arrogance towards Australian's generally. It was sweet however when the Wallabies came through with victory rather convincingly 28-14 it was rather sweet.

One of the security guards was nice enough to let me take a couple of shots (will be up later) of the ground when it was empty. I was also fortunate to be able to see the Wallabies board their bus and give them some applause for their efforts.

WELSH, SCOTTISH, IRISH, ENGLISH OR BRITISH?

Andy Murray. He is currently rated in the top 10 in the world tennis ranking's i believe. I find it quite hilarious that on television and in the media in Britain that when this guy is winning he is conveniently British. But is Scottish when he loses. This seems to happen quite a bit here. I am not aware if it is the other way around in other parts of Britain, on my trip to Scotland i did not watch enough television to comment (Why would you anyway?)

I guess that this justifies why Australian media claims ownership of the people of New Zealand. (You can have Russell Crowe back by the way)

WINDRUNNERS

I have wanted a pair so bad since i got to London at the end of August. But they would get pretty trashed. Pretty similar to Max light's but very subtle differences. They are about £54.99 which by Australian terms is cheap. Just gotta get some flow together to get a pair!
